Trinity's church bells were donated by Mr. Jacob Jung in honor
of the church's 25th anniversary in 1878. There are a total of three
bells, each having interesting inscriptions. The bells have been
faithfully calling worshippers to Trinity for the last 125 years. While
they were first rung by pulling ropes, electric ringing motors have been in use
since 1949. In the early days of Trinity's history, the small bell was
often called "die Beichglocke" (confession bell). In those days
on a Sunday on which Holy Communion was celebrated, the main service was
preceded by a special confessional service for the communicants, announced by
the ringing of the small bell. The inscriptions on the bells can be found
below.You may listen to
the bells in this mp3 recording.
