| Biography of Rev. John Berg |
Pastor John M. Berg was born on May 5, 1967 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He was baptized on May 21, 1967 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and was confirmed on April 12, 1981 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Elgin, Illinois. He attended Valley Lutheran High School in St. Charles, Illinois and Rockford Lutheran High School, Rockford, Illinois. Pastor Berg attended Concordia University Wisconsin, and graduated in 1989 with a B.A. majoring in Theology and Music.
Pastor Berg is married to Kathleen (nee
Jagow) Berg. Pastor and Kathleen are blessed with six children.
Pastor Berg attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and graduated with an M Div in 1993. He served his vicarage year at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hannibal, Missouri. He was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford, Illinois on June 27, 1993. Pastor Berg accepted the call to be Associate Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church on March 25, 2007.
Pastor Berg was first called to serve as a pastor at Concordia Lutheran Church and Lutheran Student Center in Vermillion, South Dakota. Pastor Berg served at Concordia from 1993-1998. In April of 1998 Pastor Berg accepted the call to serve Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Pastor Berg enjoys spending time with his family, camping, playing the organ and piano, listening to music, reading, golf, softball, fishing and cheering for the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers.
