I Am Thankful For…

"We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers.  We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ"  (1 Thessalonians 1:2-3).

Dear Brothers and Sisters of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Many families have a tradition of each person gathered around the table at Thanksgiving sharing what he or she is thankful for.  For this month's newsletter article I would like to share with you what I am thankful for.

At the beginning of the school year there was a meeting of the entire staff of Trinity.  At that meeting I handed out a sheet of paper to each person that included the name of a particular staff member at the top of the page.  I asked them to write something about the person whose name they received.  What follows is a summary of what was written about each person.  It illustrates how much we all have to be thankful for at Trinity.  I am thankful for…

Kevin Loughran, Associate Pastor:  He is genuinely interested in every member of the staff and church, takes the time to "just listen," shares the Gospel in a heartfelt way, makes everyone feel important and that they belong.

Rick Schneider, Principal:  He is a strong, dedicated, and effective educator and principal.  He seeks to get the best out of teachers and students.  He reflects God's love by interacting with students both inside and outside the classroom.

Roger Buck, Director of Outreach and Human Care:  He is compassionate, willing, day or night, to drop everything in order to help someone in need.  He is faithful, kind, always there to listen, and has a huge heart for missions.

Brian Heinlein, Music Director:  He is an accomplished organist, hard worker, enjoys being with students, shares his faith, is gentle and caring with little ones, polite, and has a great sense of humor which adds to the fun of choir.

Ken Howard, 8th Grade Teacher:  He is known as being a "tough" teacher but it is clear from students that his "toughness" is like that described in Hebrews 12:  Discipline that flows from a Father's love for his child.  He is trustworthy, has a sense of humor, is reliable, and is loved by his students.

Melissa Nennig, 7th Grade Teacher:  She brings a breath of fresh air to the faculty.  She has brought life and energy with her, is always smiling, laughing, and very positive.  She is dedicated and has the respect and admiration of her students.
